Filming Blog: Reshoots
Hey everyone! Welcome back to another production blog. Today, I'll be covering how the rest of the filming process and a couple hiccups I crossed into along the way. For one of the scenes we had to shoot, the camera was to record the characters running outside the door. However, I had forgotten the proper costume for one of the characters. They should have been dressed in all black, including black shoes. Unfortunately, the person playing this character had come in the wrong type of shoes and I had to improvise to come up with a makeshift costume. Luckily, the scene only needed about the bottom half of the legs to be filmed. I managed to find a pair of black shoes that, while were a few sizes to large, would work perfectly for the scene. Once the camera was set up on the tripod, we now began filming. We thought we had the shot down perfect, but upon watching it back, I realized that the sound of cars passing in the back was prominent in the recording. This was quite an annoying incident as I had already shifted the tripod from its position. This would mean I'd have to reposition the camera so that it would match where it was before and keep everything needed in frame. This took a few tries as the door would not stay open. I also had to ensure when running, that my foot would step into the frame. The other character also had to reposition themselves to walk out on time. In addition to this, one of the titles is to be placed on the weapon the other character carries. However, for this to worse, the person would have to bend down significantly to get the weapon into frame. After a few reshoots, we were able to complete this scene successfully. And that's all for today! Until next time everyone.
