Who Do You Trust Most in Life?

    Welcome back everyone! As I mentioned in my last post, I'm extremely excited to be starting this project. But, as usual, I could never do it without my favorite work partner...Yas! Not much of a surprise that I'm working with her again for this project, but we work so well together. For starters, she's reliable and I know I can trust her with the partial responsibility of making time for this project and submitting everything in a timely manner. I also know I can trust her to work thoroughly on each step. Even on portions of the project that might call for mostly my skills over hers, like the storyboard, she is still there to help. I can have time management issues, so she ensures that I space myself out properly so we can work together on planning the scenes and then I can sketch them. Not only have I worked with Yas when it comes to group projects since I was 6, but I've also worked with her for two other AICE Media related productions specifically. This makes her even more of a reliable and trustworthy person to operate with. Another reason I love working with Yas is that she's diligent, especially in regards to academics. Even when she is absent and misses important information that is needed for this class, she ensures that the she receives the all the information entirely to produce her best work. 


    Moreover, we have been friends since childhood. This makes us a highly compatible duo as I know that our personalities complement each other well. I usually bring the comedic relief in our time together, but also a passion and skill for creativity that is often needed when making our visions for these projects a reality. Yas, on the other hand, works much more technically and logically than me. This makes her the perfect candidate to ensure efficiency with our work and that it makes logical sense. By creating this balance with each other, we are able to put all our best efforts and applications of our knowledge forth into these projects. Overall, I'm highly looking forward to starting the production process for this project primarily because I able to work with the person I trust most: Yas. Until the next one guys!

Filming Blog: Getting through the first scene

 Welcome back everyone! Today, I'll be telling you guys about my fourth day of production for this project. In my last blog, I talked about the final details of preparation that was taken prior to filming and  mentioned the first scene. For this production blog, however, I'll be talking about all the scenes we were able to film inside, which would be about half the scenes. As previously mentioned, scene 1 is stationed in the kitchen. I knew I had to be cutting some type of food on the cutting board, but I had to ensure it was easy to slice through and would not result in being a waste of food. I decided to use some fruit as I could hold the plum in my hand while cutting. This motion of simply cutting the fruit took a few tries to make it seem more natural, but once I got the hang of it, it became easy. The fruit even ended up being a snack for later! Part of the Top 10 Horror Movies We'd Suggest

     Hey guys! So the next researching step our group took was to research different movies from our selected genre and analyze them. For the first movie, we chose to look at "A Quiet Place," and we found it to be very interesting. 1. What elements (conventions) of the horror genre does this movie have?     When watching "A Quiet Place," we noticed that may conventions of the horror genre were present. First, diegetic sounds like harsh breathing, creaking, crying, footsteps, and dry leaves rustling were used throughout the film. Since there was minimal dialogue incorporated, the diegetic and ambient sounds help to set the tone for the movie and make up for the lack of dialogue. Nondiegetic sound was also incorporated, and like most horror films, fast paced and suspenseful music was used during climactic scenes. Conventional camera angles were also used throughout the film.
