Sometimes Things Don't Go As Planned

Hey everyone! Today is yet another production blog, but our final one. The final step is finally here. Last time, I left off by mentioning that I almost entirely finished the editing process. While this was true, after some revision, I came to understand that I had some more editing to do due to a number of issues. To begin with, some of the filming was rather shaky. While this is not something I could quite fix at this point, I knew that by fading out the ending of the video more, it may help to stabilize it. Moreover, some of the transitions were certainly choppy, though I wasn't sure what else I could do to adjust them.

After watching a couple video on editing transitions, I believed I may have had a better understanding and went back to revise the transition. With that done, it was now time to film the initial scene that would be need to match the length of the video to the song. Once this new clip was inserted, the audio was able to sync up to the video, making the lip syncing seem more realistic. With these problems solved, I know had to discover how to insert the new beginning scene and edit the audio correctly to match it as well. For this new initial scene, the plan was to incorporate only ambient noise and not any of the actual song to this intro scene. It was also serve the storyline, which can be very confusing if not listening directly to the lyrics and full understanding them. Therefore, by adding this beginning scene and possibly a very short outro screen, the video was complete. At the end of the video, I set the clips to fade to black but for a longer and more gradual period of time. This way, not only might it disguise the shake of the hands holding the camera, but also to include the title and artist of the song the music video was on. With all the steps finished, all that remained was debating whether the video was now to our satisfactory or not. Upon further deliberation, we both agreed that with these small, but several adjustments made, the video would be received well nevertheless. And that's a wrap for the production blogs everyone. Until next time!
