Our First Production Day for the Music Video

Welcome back everyone, today I'll be telling you guys how the first filming day went for the music video. On Wednesday, November 23rd, Yasmin and I began our first filming day for production. I had prepared the tripod and camera the night before to make the filming day run smoother as I would not be the one working the camera. To do so, I had to ensure the camera was fully charged, that it properly fit onto the tripod, and that all the mechanics of the tripod were functioning as they should. Nevertheless, due to the fact that I was going to be the one being filmed in the music video, I had to quickly teach Yasmin what to loosen or tighten on the tripod in order to move the camera in different directions. We also examined what settings worked best for what lighting to see if it might make a difference. Once we both had a better understanding of how to properly hold and maneuver the camera, we filmed the bedroom scenes as depicted in the storyboard. The filming was rocky at first as I felt awkward lip syncing to the music.

I had trouble focusing on the assignment and properly acting out the scene as it felt either too stiff or overly expressive. In addition to this, I wasn't sure how far to position myself onto the bed for the right angle to be achieved. But, after a messing up the first few clips, I was finally able to get the sitting position right and figured out the perfect distance to keep between me and the camera.  On top of this, I also found a system for me to align the music to my lip syncing prior to the editing, which would hopefully save myself a lot of time. For the next scene that had to be filmed in the bedroom, the camera had to be positioned above me. What, initially,  I'd assumed to be one of the most difficult scenes to filmed turned out to be the easiest - which was a pleasant surprise. I simply had Yasmin stand over me while I fell back onto the bed. I had even perfectly positioned the pillows to ensure they looked fluffed and within frame. Once this shorter scene was finished, all the bedroom scenes were done. All that was left was to send the texts for the insert that would be included. And that concludes the production process of our first filming day. Next time, I believe we'll be filming the park scenes, so I look forward to that. I hope it doesn't rain either, that would be unfortunate. That's all for today, until next time!
