Another Successful Day of Production
Welcome back, everyone, to another production blog! Today, I'll be explaining how our second day of filming for the music video went. On Monday, November 28th, we filmed the park scenes - which were arguably the most difficult to record. While I was lucky enough for it to not have rained that day, the sun was relentless.
It was very hot that day and since I was unsure where to even lie in the grass to film the scene, I overheated very quickly. Nevertheless, we powered through and started by trying to film in the shade, but we quickly learned that the camera could not adjust to the lighting properly. So, I suggested to move to another spot where the sun shone better on the subject of the music video - me. After walking a few laps around the park, I found a spot to lie down in the grass right beside a bench. I had Yasmin stand on the bench to film the scene from a high angle directly above me. This took nearly an hour simply to properly film the scene as we had envisioned it. While filming this scene was mostly likely more stressful for Yasmin, I was still uncomfortable lying in the grass. Nevertheless, I was impressed by both of us being able to pull through the heat and achieve the scenes we needed. With these scenes filmed, we watched them a few times to ensure that it was recorded in the way we wanted to. In addition to this, I was worried that the editing might be too complicated for my skills, so we decided to film the scene a couple times again to have a few options. As for the recording process itself for this scene, the camera had to be lifted into the sky - still attached to the tripod. Because of this, keeping eye contact with the camera was difficult because the sun was in my eyes, so I had to improvise. But, it was all worth it because the final result for the park scene was a relief! That's all for today's blog, I can't wait for the final scenes. Until the next one!
